Missouri is taking concussions seriously

The added visibility of brain injuries is making people take notice.  And, what’s so good about is that the people who can make a difference, are doing something.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association’s brain injury report shows 2,003 boys and 848 girls sustained concussions in the 2015-2016 school year. Nearly half of the concussions involved football, followed by girls’ soccer, cheerleading, wrestling and girls’ basketball.

They’re not cancelling the activities, but rather focussing on skills and techniques to avoid them in play.

Good for them not to hide from it, but rather to help to avoid them.
