Holy cow – Anonymous farmer donates $30,000 heifer to brain injury charity

A heifer came to the rescue of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland’s Transitional Living Unit based in Sligo,this autumn when it was donated to the charity as part of a fundraising initiative.

The four-star pure Limousin Heifer was donated by a generous benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous and raffled off on September 28 in Aurivo Mart in Ballymote.

The final amount raised was a wonderful €11,500 (about C$30,000) and the heifer has since given birth to a bull calf.

Local services manager Teresa Boyle said: “Acquired Brain Injury Ireland would like to publicly thank our very generous benefactor, who wishes to remain anonymous, for this most generous donation to the service.
