When I first saw this, I said “huh??” and wrote it off to pandering to the public’s thoughts of boys vs. girls, but it’s not. It’s real – please click the picture for the story.
However, when I read it, I realized that it’s not simply hype, but has some solid facts. It’s after puberty that the difference lies. And, the emotional impacts are more significant, like depression and anxiety, because girls. That’s scary, because those are invisible elements, known only to the girl, and sometimes, they pretend that it’s not there, because they don’t want to appear weak.
If you are, or know someone, a girl who’s suffered a concussion, and have thoughts like what I’d described (depression and/or anxiety), then please get help.
